Muslim Perspectives On Peace-building Conference

Oct. 12-13, 2012

Claremont Lincoln University, the University of Southern California’s Office of Religious Life, the Islamic Society of North America, and the Center for Global Peacebuilding at Claremont Lincoln University are co-sponsoring a conference on Muslim perspectives on peacebuilding along with local hosts South Coast Interfaith Council and I Am Jerusalem. They seek community leaders, activists, educators, researchers, and professionals to inspire fellow scholars and community members interested in peacebuilding from Muslim perspectives, by sharing their experiences in resolving family, community and interfaith conflicts.

The conference will take place on October 12 – 13, 2012 in Claremont, California and will address themes related to Family, Community, and Interfaith conflicts. Within these three themes, the conference conveners intend to address conflicts based upon gender, age, culture and race. The aim is to deeply engage what it means to approach these issues from Muslim perspectives and develop methodologies and models of intervention and prevention to address the range of issues presented.

Conference is FREE and open to the public. Registration must be received by October 1st to reserve your spot. Space is limited.
